- While he never officially gave his name it was to the guy whose birth name was Garriden Kennick, though he goes by Kieran when working at the bar (when Mags meets him) and definitely prefers that name.
When K asks him if he wants to give his name or describe himself he makes a complaining noise but then says "mostly sweaty at the moment," and then tall, dark hair that's scraggly.
There's a dude in the room (a nurse) saying he deosn't have any sympathy for him, which K expressed wasn't nice until she was told that he had tried to break the guy's nose earlier.
The ward wasn't a hospital ward, exactly. It was a medical ward in the prison and he was there "drying out" (things not spoken off in the 'gression but that I understood considering having seen detox from Duke & Cam perspectives).
- Move forward (outside note: he's now at a different facility. Previously at Centralia which in our world is a correctional facility in Illinois. This place begins with a Gr sound but didn't get the full name at any point).
He's put on a small bus with one other prisoner whose name he doesn't know. "No one [he's] gotten into a fight with anyway." He's near the front of the bus the other guy is near the back and they're driving. He slept a bit on the trip but then they were stopped. Three cop cars across the road, but then he was like shit there are people with powers around he could sense it partially in pulsing in his back where his "brand/tattoo" is.
Powered peeps knocked out the driver and the other guard using mind abilities, and he and the other prisoner both ran. They just let the other guy go but with three people with mind abilities it was impossible for him to fend them off and he was chased down and over powered. They're taking him on a trip across several states. Sitting in the back of a car between two people from the Watch.
- Forward. A couple of days. They're stopped in Kentucky.
Parts of people's farms are being blighted, corn fields and animals. The Watch wants to know if he can figure out who is causing it.
He's in a bar now and the guy is drinking brandy. Comment about it not being a fair fight if he's "two" sheets to the wind. He's not going to start a bar fight because that would be too obvious but he is going to follow him to the bathroom because he needs to "stop" him. He left him in the stall and went out the back. He'd broken his nose before breaking his neck because there had to be blood otherwise someone else in his family would get the power and it might start all over again.
K asks if he's okay. He says, "mostly."
He has to go back to the hotel to report to Stephenson via video conference. Doug stayed to clean up the scene and Joanna brought him back. Stephenson is reiterating something he was told the previous day that his freedom is conditional on him continuing to do these jobs and they'll put him back or send him down for his father's murder which will be even worse for him. Stephenson is also going on about what's going to happen in NOLA when he gets there the pseudo-job he'll have. The living situation they've set up for him, asking him what he remembers about the history of the town, about the hurricanes about the things his father did. He starts to argue with Stephenson, getting pissed about everything, and then because he's getting groggy from the down of the blood/power absorption but still being uppity because while Stephenson has a point about "dangerous powers" like hurricanes and firestorms and earthquakes and things he still doesn't like it. Joanna is able to get the drop on jabbing him with a needle and he goes out.
Work out later she stabbed him with heroin needle.
He spends pretty much the rest of the trip home high/sleeping on Joanna.
- Forward K notes he was very mumbly and unable to focus. Said he was "fine" and "good" and everything was "okay", but she skipped him forward again to a point he was clearer.
Susan, aunt, making jokes about everything and apparently a new person coming in to audition. Susan yelling at Greg (husband) not to flirt with new chick who just came in. (Susan and Greg are Allbrights. Keegan Allbright owns local paper and works with Stephenson).
He/I thinks new chick has powers, hoping it's nothing major, can definitely tell she has something that makes her more agile, he's going to stay out of it and not press hopefully that's just it. (There are people who just have small amounts of power and nothing has to be done and he can get away with not reporting it after all -- internal thought). New girl is good and so now he's showering her around. This is the bar, the glasses, the store room, where the delivery comes in. Greg says, "This is Kieran's sleeping corner." "No, that's downstairs so no one disturbs me."
- Forward a few days.
Susan would make him walk her home just in case something happened because she's young and she has to walk, and there were actually muggers. She had something she could throw really well some sort of energy, and he can sense there are other powers beneath it things she hasn't used in front of him or shown. Her apartment is close to his (the other reason Susan said he should walk her).
He's not going to say anything still, doesn't want to have to creepy bloodhound stalk her, absently wonders if "they" have delivered his package yet. The payment for the "family trip".
The next day he gets the package (The usual payment: money and drugs), this time there's a note in it too. There's a threat on Stephenson's life. "Need info on the pillars. More info to follow." He thinks his family might be a pillar family which is apparently hilarious, because the pillars have something to do with the brands too especially as they randomly appear and then won't go away. He remembers Babineaux and Dechamps, and there are others, but then he started fading off again because with having gotten his payment he had gotten high.
